Antique Chinese screen,this antique Chinese screen measures 61 and three quarter inches high and is 31 and one quarter inches wide. The frame is 1 and one half inches wide. The ink and wash image depicts an image of the warrior Diety in the Song Dynasty style. Dates from 1850. Excellent condition with just a couple of small wholes. Strong image.This ink and wash is painted on paper.

Circa 1895 By Jennie or Fannie Burr oil on canvas. of New Haven Harbor. Monroe, Connecticut.Fannie and Jennie Burr. 1872 to 1961 and 1858 to 1931. They were 2 of 5 children born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Their father was a very successful farmer. Although the 2 sisters were 14 years apart, they were close. Fannie began to draw as a child. She later attended and graduated from the Yale School of Fine Arts. After that, she studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. List in Who Was Who in American Art by Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britian CT. Catalogue of work produced by The Connecticut Gallery Inc.
