Antique Portrait Miniature oil on paper of Military Infantry Officer c1800, this military "portrait miniature" was painted and signed by J Ohcl' . The last name appears to be abbreviated. The back side of the painting has a W S in script. This portrait miniature is extremely well done. It Depicts an officer with his sword on his side, medal on his chest and a earring in his ear. This miniature's frame measures four and one eighth by 3 and five eighths. The painting measures one and a half inches by two inches. The colors and detail are much more important looking in person than the picture show. It is a hard item to photograph. The mans hair is well done and so is his day old beard andgorget medal. This would make a great addition to any miniature painting collection. See Miller's 2000 page 626 for a smiliar style portrait miniature

Vintage rosewood picture frame inlaid with brass bronze and mosaic, This vintage "picture frame" is quite stunning. It took an enormous amount of time to inlay all the brass, bronze and ivory in to a mosaic design. The outside rim is framed in bronze also. This might have been made in Syria. This ornate picture frame dates for the early 20th century and measure 5 inches by six and one half inches. The inside measurement where a painting or picture would go measures 4 and one quarter by 2 and three quarters. The condition is excellent with only one tiny brass inlaid piece missing which is hard to notice.
