Arthur Clifton Goodwin oil on canvas painting of Beacon Hill Boston. This oil on canvas was painted by "A C Goodwin" and depicts a street scape of The Beacon Hill section of Boston at the end of the day. The colors and detail are wonderful with the sun setting and reflecting on and highlighting the colors of the buildings. A C Goodwin was born in 1864 and died in 1929. Member of the Boston GA and self taught. To see a large biography on the artist go to Who Was Who In American Art page 1325. A C Goodwin is one of the important American Impressionist artists of the late 19th century. Condition is excellent. The painting was professionally relined and cleaned years ago. The period original frame measures 33 by 29 inches and the painting measures 24 by 20 and one half inches.

Thomas Bigelow Craig oil on canvas "Thomas Craig" was born in 1849 and died in 1924. Member of the ANA To see a large biography on the artist go to Who Was Who In American Art page 761. Thomas Craig is a very well collected American artist known for his summer landscapes with cows grazing or wading through a stream which he exhibited at the the National Academy annuals for 45 years. Condition is excellent. The painting was professionally cleaned years ago but never relined. The original period frame measures 29 by 21 and one half inches and the painting measures 12 by 20 and one half inches.

C R Loomis Watercolor Landscape. Antique Watercolor by Charles Russel Loomis of a New England brook in the fall. Loomis was active in Hartford CT between 1882 and 1891 and exhibited Boston AC,1882 to 1885.This watercolor was painted by American Artist "Charles Russell Loomis" and depicts a pumpkin patch. Loomis was well known for his pumpkin patch paintings. This watercolor Is in its original frame which measures 18 and and one half inches wide by 13 and one quarter inches high. The image measures 10 and three quarter inches high by 5 and one quarter inches wide. See Who Was Who in American Art page 2057 for more information on the Artist. Excellent original as found untouched estate condition including its frame.

Watercolor and ink painting of a Candomble scene. Candomble is an African/Brazilian religious dance ritual. Its origins are Yoruban (Nigerian). American expatriate artist Richard de Menocal was born in 1919. He fell in love with Brazilian culture, and made it his home. The image image measures 26 by 18 and one half inches. The original solid chestnut wood frame measures 27 by 33 and three quarters inches. Note: Richard de Menocal's "Lady Comes to Call" a 10.75 x 6 watercolor and ink on paper, was estimated at $500-700.00 and brought $4250.00, at Sotheby's Kennedy Family Homes Sale 2/15 to 2/16/2005, lot 369, catalog page 225. This was a sale of items collected from the Kennedy homes in Hyannisport, Martha's Vineyard, NYC, Virginia, & New Jersey.

"Boat at Dock" is an oil painting by American maritime history and portrait painter Frank Briscoe. He was born in Baltimore in 1844 and died in Philadelphia in 1903. He was well known and successful. He studied with Edward Moran, and also studied and traveled in Europe. This painting appears to have been done in Holland. It is in excellent "as found" original condition. The canvas measures 20 by 16 inches and is signed at the lower right. The original frame measures 24 by 28 inches.
